The sand beneath my feet has no interest in counting my steps. The chirping whistle of the bald eagle is indistinguishable from the ocean’s roar.
Existence once demanded proof of nonexistence’s existence. Nonexistence, of course, made no reply. Unable to perceive nonexistence, existence decided nonexistence did not exist.
A professor at a dinner party, with great delight, informed me that my path is nonsense. Years later, a happier woman, a medical researcher, told me my way is lofty yet unrealistic. My friend Ram Giri loved to see love. Seeing love, my nonsense made real sense. Mind love, heart love, belly love. Wisdom, compassion, spirit. Yes, travel this way. 10,000 things. No thing. Love.
To know Dao, dim the lights, look in ordinary places. Or do this: Look out, see Dao everywhere.
Few things are as pleasing when we finally get them as they were tempting when we were desiring them. The joy of satisfying our desires quickly births new desires.
There is lasting pleasure in discovering how much you do not need. Discovering all that you do not need, enjoy unearthing the vastness of all that you already have. This is loving the Dao.
To be successful, stop trying. Acceptance is the way. Close your mouth often to speak wisdom. Put your fingers in your ears to listen. Welcome your fear of death and be free. When you feel hopeless, do nothing. All this is called flowing in Dao.
Above, the heavens are limitless. Below, the earth endures. I would say they live forever if they were ever actually born.
Each one of us was born tiny, precious players in a cosmic flow. Sky above, embracing earth below. Dao, such a limitless dance of love.
If we pay attention, Dao will teach us things. Walk very slowly on the earth to get ahead. View life from the heavens to know oneness with all.
Live a selfless, loving life to be fulfilled.
Always magnificent !
I have never encountered anyone who can so succinctly explain how easy it is to abandon the influences of our culture, without having to actually abandon our culture. Thank you so much.
